This course is for those who have want to better learn to protect themselves against home invasions and protect themselves outside of the home.
This advanced eight-hour course is essential to the safe and efficient use of firearms for self-protection and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense from a home invasion or other attack.
A review of federal and state laws and the aftermath of an intruder shooting will be taught. Issues discussed include the potential legal issues of using justified deadly force, the process of police investigations and the court system.
You will become very familiar with use of force laws in protecting your family premises and property items, what you should do and what you should not do.
Students also will learn defensive shooting skills and be tested on those skills on a firing range. They will also learn strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, how to choose a firearm(s) for self-defense, and continued opportunities for skill development.

Students are asked, if they have them, to bring their personal firearm, 100 rounds of ammunition, hearing and eye protection and their cleaning kit.

You may only reschedule once and must take the rescheduled class within a two-month period. Class registration is transferable to another person. HF LearnSafety reserves the right to cancel and reschedule any class due to low enrollment.
